Geneva briefing against the greatest health threat
The Global Sepsis Alliance presented its new “5×5 Briefing” in Geneva and called for concrete measures to combat sepsis. Swiss contributions lent the presentation particular weight.
With Swiss participation, the Global Sepsis Alliance presented its latest briefing paper for policymakers and the media (5×5 Briefing) to the public in Geneva. It contains five facts about sepsis, such as the fact that most sepsis deaths are preventable. It also outlines five actions that can help combat the condition—including the call to give greater emphasis to sepsis in the education and training of healthcare professionals. Jennifer Epifanio, a mother from Switzerland whose son died of sepsis, shared her family’s moving story. And Nora Lüthi from the Swiss Sepsis Program explained Switzerland’s multilingual and federalist approach to the fight against sepsis.
